A reproduction marble sculpture by Sculptured Arts Studio, of one of Canova`s best known historical marble sculptures.
It is also known as one of Canova’s most masterly sculptures, his marble statue portrait of the beautiful Paulina, depicted as Venus Victorious, was sister to Napoleon Bonaparte.
It became a commission that was very difficult to do, it drew upon all his artistic skills, to portray her without accusation of exhibitionism. When his finished marble sculpture was unveiled and shown to her she was delighted at the finished work. The original antique marble sculpture is on display in the Galleria Borghese, Rome , Italy .
