In Formed White Carara marble, on a white socle.
This marble bust which is also known as The Bride, shows the realism a marble sculptor can put into a piece of Carara marble. The original antique marble sculpture was made by Raphaelle Monti, who was Italian, and who came to live and work in England 1850. He established his name with this marble statue, which was purchased by the Duke of Devonshire, and it is on permanent display along with some of the world’s finest grand tour sculpture, in the Chatsworth House marble sculpture collection, Derbyshire , England .
The Veiled lady has been one of our top five sculptures since we first re-released it twenty years ago.
